Work is underway to fix a leaking pipe at the Port Macquarie Dam pumping station.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will replace a section of the Transit Hill Rising Main, which has been corroded.
While storage reservoirs in Port Macquarie and the Camden Haven have been filled to capacity to ensure water supplies won’t be affected, residents are being asked to avoid using large amounts of water until Friday.
Council says the damage was caused by a lack of protective coating.
