The Port of Newcastle has broken another coal export record.
In October almost 9-million tonnes of coal was shipped out, beating the previous monthly record set last December.
The boost coincides with an increase in loading capacity at Port Waratah Coal Services’ Kooragang terminal.
The Ports Minister, Joe Tripodi, inspected a new reclaimer today, which is part of a $450-million upgrade of equipment at PWCS.
