Jenny dowell was NOT saying that no-one was going to be on the street a month ago. She was saying that council had no obligation to house the residents at the council caravan park , but at the goodness of the councils “heart” (notice the advertising) they were doing all they could , with the help of local housing providers, to “relocate” the residents. She did NOT say that the said housing providers were sending people to the council caravan park because they did NOT have accomodation at hand. The simple fact is that Lismore, or any where else in the Nolrthern Rivers area, has emergency housing for homeless people, and we simply are unable to house the people at the council caravan park anywhere else but the council caravan park at the present time. She can talk till the cows come home, but unless the council makes a real effort to find alternate accomodation, 90 + people will be on the street,& THAT”S A FACT.
