The best young cyclists in New South Wales battled for state honours in Port Macquarie on the weekend.
A record field of 225 riders lined up for the state junior road cycling championships, which ended with a thrilling sprint in the final road race.
Mid north coast cyclists performed well, including Manning Valley’s Peter Lewis who finished in the top five of his three events and Port Macquarie’s Katherine Hawes who came seventh in the road race.
