As if anyone who knew him could ever forget!
NBN’s former Head of Production, Rob Short was laid to rest today after a funeral service attended by his family and hundreds of friends.
Rob died at his home at Lorn, aged 57 on Thursday 9th of July.

The small Holy Family Catholic Church at Largs was packed for today’s service, an extra marquee set up in the grounds also filled to overflowing.

Rob’s family shared happy memories of their much loved husband, dad, and grandad, of home life and holidays.
Tributes, were also made by members of Rob’s “other family” NBN Television, where he began as a studio hand in 1970 and rose through ranks to become a director and head of production.

Rob was a driving force of creativity, professionalism and encouragement, responsible for hundreds of programs and campaigns at NBN including Romper Room and Telethons.

Former CEOs, and representatives, past and present from all departments of NBN attended the service, which included an appearance from Big Dog. (a close friend of Rob’s)

Tears, beers, laughter and many stories were to follow well into the evening.

Thanks Rob it’s been a privilege all the way.
