Inverell athlete, Hugh Williams, will take on elite international runners at the Gold Coast’s Airport Marathon event this weekend.
The 17-year-old will contest the 10 kilometre race on Sunday, where $1,000 prize money is up for grabs.
The Macintyre high school student has had an impressive 12 months, winning last year’s hotly contested Tamworth Ten fun run.
He has just returned from the New South Wales Road Racing Championships in Sydney, where he collected first in his age group.
