MIRACULOUS ESCAPE FOR CESSNA TRIO

Three people have managed to walk from the wreckage of a light plane, that crashed while taking off on the New South Wales mid north coast this afternoon.

At around 2.30, emergency services rushed to the Old Bar Airstrip near Taree, following reports a single-engined aircraft had gone down.

But by the time they arrived, the three men onboard had already managed to free themselves from the plane and, amazingly, didn’t suffer a single scratch.

It appears the Cessna, which had an experienced pilot at the controls, lost power on take-off, causing it to crash into nearby scrub.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau officers attended the scene, but will not investigate further, with the local rural fire service crews called in to mop up.
