HEADSPACE FUNDS SET TO FALL

A central coast youth mental health service opened 9 months ago by the federal government fears it could have its funding cut by 65 per cent come July 1st.

Such a loss of funding would see 20 of the centre’s 26 staff lose their jobs.

  1. This is appalling! I used this service and it was unbelievable! As a young person on minimum wage, i can access their help all for free! Unlike many other health sevices, this one has little or no waiting time and so many people to help with all kinds of things! Why put so much money into a new project- that works- only to cut its funding. This makes no sense!

(Especially after reading how the Government made all those Stimuluse payments to deceased and expat people!)

  2. This is frightening. I am the mother of a 15 year old girl who has used the Coffs Harbour service extensively. The staff of this service are awesome and professional and do an amazing job. Surely, our young people who are our future, deserve better than this.
