TICKETS FLY FOR CHOPPER CHARITY BALL

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is hoping to raise more than $60,000 at it’s premier fundraising event in Tamworth this year.

More than 400 tickets for the service’s charity ball sold within the first hour today, following the official launch in Tamworth.

More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the June event, with all money raised going towards operation costs for the service.

Manager for Special Projects, Barry Walton said we rely heavily on the community. They support us because we have something that is fast, efficient and it does save lives.

Half of the service’s $3-million operating costs are donated by the community.
