GRAFTON MADE SLEEPERS HIT THE TRACKS
Grafton company Rocla is laying the platform for the largest Australian rail project undertaken, since the nation’s first tracks were laid.
The company has manufactured a super-strength concrete sleeper which will be used on the Federal Government’s $1.2-billion North South rail upgrade.
Today, Australian Rail Track Corporation CEO David Marchant laid the first locally produced prototype.
The lucrative contract has secured work for employees at the Grafton factory for a further two years.
