It’s a time of mixed fortunes for the agriculture sector, according to a survey by the ANZ bank.
The Regional and Rural Quarterly report has revealed the outlook for the state’s northwest is strong, because of good rain over the past three months.
It also says favourable weather conditions have led to above-average-quality sorghum crops, and reasonable cotton yields are also expected.
However the news isn’t as good for dairy farmers, with incomes expected to fall as a result of the drop in milk prices.
