LABOR ELECTION PAINS ON THE GOLD COAST

For the first time in a long time, the Labor Party faces the prospect of an election bloodbath on the coast.

Latest polls reveal all but one of the ALP’s incumbent members are now in danger of losing their seats.

The swing at the moment is estimated at around 6% to the Liberal National Party, but some experts say that number is conservative and the figure could be a few percent higher on the Gold Coast.

They say basically if the election were held today, several Labor members would find themselves jobless.

  1. I watched the interview between the Southport MP, Peter Lalor and the LNP candidate, Tania Wright. I felt that Mr Lalor looked nervous and didn’t perform particularly well at all whereas Ms Wright spoke with confidence and most certainly looked the part of the MP. My vote on this occasion will be for Ms Wright.

  2. I think Lawlor and the other Gold Coast Labor MPs will be toast once more people realise that they are going to knock down the Southport hospital. Probably going to sell the site to their developer mates. Or maybe build some high-density Housing Commission units.

  3. Peter Lawlor looked old and tired. Bring on the young, bright sparks like Tania Wright. Tania sounds like she cares about the people of Southport and enthusiastic enough to follow through for the electorate.
