One of the nation’s busiest highways was cut in half today.
A truck carrying a cherry picker clipped a footbridge in Maitland mid morning, bringing the overpass crashing onto the four lane road.
Remarkably, no one was killed, just four people suffered minor injuries, even though the bridge collected two other trucks and one car.

I have tried to access a news video (of the Maitland bridge collapse) and despite many attempts I cannot play the video. It is a shame that when there is no late news and a website to provide the service, the technology does not work effectively to keep people informed.
