Gunnedah’s old Bestcare Pet Food Factory is again making headlines, after it launched civil action against Origin Energy in the New South Wales Supreme Court.
The former factory was destroyed by an explosion in January 2003.
A coroner’s report into the incident found it was caused by a build-up of gas in the factory.
The blast caused $10-million damage and rather than rebuilding, the company relocated to Dubbo, leaving behind its 35 staff.
