The Mayumarri Healing Centre in the Hunter Valley offers victims of child abuse the chance to explore their feelings and deal with trauma.
The centre, run entirely by volunteers hopes the appointment of the local Federal MP Joel Fitzgibbon as its new patron, will help its push for recognition and funding from the government.
