Tamworth has been named one of the most affordable place to live in Australia.
Lists of the top 10 most affordable and least affordable places in 2008 were released today by the Residential Development Council, with Tamworth listed at six on the list of the most affordable.
The study revealed that for Australians looking to buy a house in Tamworth last year, they would only have to spend up to 42 per cent of their income to service their mortgage.
Victoria’s Latrobe Valley topped the list as the most affordable place to live, followed by Mildura, Dubbo and Ballarat.
The Gold and Sunshine Coasts and Sydney were listed as some of the least-affordable places to live.
