A 37-year-old Mayfield man has been charged with 63 weapons offences, after police raided a home in Hanbury Street on Thursday morning.
Police allege they found a range of weapons including 16 rifles and shotguns, six handguns including replicas and a crossbow, as well as ammunition inside the home.
They also discovered jewellery, rare coins, plasma televisions and power tools all of which police allege are stolen.
The man also had a number of reptiles which were being kept without a permit.
He is due to appear before Newcastle Local Court on the 13th of January.
