The Gwydir Highway, between Moree and Grafton is set to receive a much-needed revamp, in the Federal Budget.
The Government has committed to injecting $8-million into improvements for the busy thoroughfare.
Proposed upgrades include passage ways over the Great Dividing Range and the installment of safety barriers, better intersections and wider roads.
The upgrades, if delivered, are expected to significantly slash travel times for commuters.
