Woy Woy Hospital’s transitional care unit has officially opened.
It replaces the rehabilitation centre which was moved to Wyong Hospital.
The new, 20-bed unit is aimed at providing one-on-one care for elderly patients who’ve been discharged from hospital, but aren’t yet well enough to live independently.
They’ll be cared for by nurses and GPs, while undertaking low-intensity occupational and physiotherapy sessions.
