There’s renewed hope the Walcha timber mill will reopen after Boral shut down its operation in August.
Walcha mayor, Bill Hazlett, says a Queensland mill has approached the company, expressing interest in the facility.
He says negotiations are still in the early stages and any deal would require discussions with Forests New South Wales.
