WEABONGA RESIDENTS FREE

Meanwhile, four families stranded near Weabonga following the weekend’s floods, have finally been able to leave their homes.

A temporary bridge has been erected to replace the Scerrets bridge which was washed away a week ago.

Until late yesterday, families were getting supplies from neighbours with the help of a country energy crane over the river.

Down the road, another six families were given access earlier this week after a four wheel drive track was established across the Swamp Oak river.

The floodwaters have washed away a one metre section of the Recreation bridge approach.
