MOREE TEAMS HIT THE BIG LEAGUE

The Tamworth AFL board will meet tomorrow to discuss expanding the league in 2009.

In November Moree was granted extra time to attract players after expressing interest in the competition.

A decision is likely to be made in January.

Meanwhile Group 4 officials are yet to decide how the Moree Boomerangs will fit into next year’s structure.

One option was for the Boomerangs to act as a reserve grade side for the Moree Boars or Wee Waa Panthers. However, it’s understood the Boomerangs want to maintain their identity and try their luck in first grade.

A temporary draw has been drafted for the 2009 season, with a final decision on the Boomerangs due early February.
