Coffs Harbour’s Josh Button came close to victory in the National Downhill Mountain Bike Series on the Gold Coast.
The 19 year old came within just six seconds of claiming the event in the trecherous conditions.
Instead he had to stand in second place on the podium behind national champion, Chris Kovarik.
The achievenment though is a career highlight for Button, who has begun to compete internationally this year.
