Alstonville boxer Timacoy Williams has claimed bronze at the World Youth Championships in Mexico.
Competing in the bantam-weight class, the 17-year-old is the only Australian to come back with a medal from this year’s games.
It was a huge effort by the amateur boxer who narrowly lost in the major semi final to Romanian Adreiana Razvan.
Williams is on a full scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and has his sights set on the 2012 London Olympics.
