ORARA RIVER REHABILITATION

Landholders whose properties adjoin the Orara River west of Coffs Harbour are being urged to get involved in the latest stage of the river’s rehabilitation.

The project to restore the natural structure of the river and its banks began in 2003.

Since that time hundreds of Camphor Laurels have been poisoned and replaced by native species.

Funding for weed control and revegetation along the Orara River on private land is currently available though the Coffs Harbour City Council.

A series of workshops and field days for landholders will be conducted over coming months.
