GOANNAS SEEK JUSTICE

The Cessnock Goannas are fuming, because this tackle on second rower Lance Lennard in Sunday’s major semi-final is set to go unpunished.

The Goannas believe Western Suburbs forward Warren Schillings should face disciplinary action for his swinging arm.

But league representatives say their hands are tied because the rules state the Goannas had until five o’clock the day after the game to sight the player.

The incident is especially tough for Lennard to swallow.

The forward has been left with a fracture from his eye socket to his top teeth and will never play again after announcing his retirement earlier in the season.
