A second Catholic Priest from the Hunter Valley has been charged in relation to a child sexual abuse case in Newcastle.
The 70-year-old was charged with perverting the course of justice over a statement made to police in 1998.
He was charged at Toronto Police station and bailed to appear in Newcastle Local Court on September 9.
A 65-year-old Priest, John Sidney Denham, who worked in the Newcastle area is facing 30 child sex charges dating back to the 1970s and and 80s.
