Less than a week after apologising for the sexual abuse at the hands of the clergy, the Catholic Church in the lower Hunter has another scandal on its hands.
65-year-old priest John Sidney Denham was today charged with 30 sex offences against teenage boys in the Newcastle and Taree areas in the 1970s and 80s.
