THREE INJURED IN TWEED HEADS BALCONY COLLAPSE

Three people have been injured after falling from a balcony on the Far North Coast. Just before one o’clock this morning, police say two men and a woman fell through a balcony rail at an address on Seaview Street in Tweed Heads South The trio fell about two metres onto a concrete path and garden rocks. The 39-year-old woman was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital in a stable condition with a broken wrist, as well as lacerations and bruising to her torso. Both men suffered head injuries and were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

INTRUDERS ON THE RUN AFTER VIOLENT TWEED HEADS HOME INVASION

Two men in their 50’s have been violently assaulted during a home invasion on the far north coast. Around 9:30pm yesterday, three men forced entry into a home on Russell Way in Tweed Heads South, armed with bats and cutting implements. Two men, aged 52 and a 51, were at the property at the time – both were beaten with the bats The 51-year-old was stabbed multiple times. The intruders then fled the scene. Both injured men were taken to hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN TWEED HEADS SOUTH CRASH

A man in his 20’s was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a truck on the far north coast yesterday. Around 5.30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle collision between a truck and a sedan on the M1 motorway in Tweed Heads South. As a result of the impact, the sedan has left the road and hit a nearby tree. The 22-year-old female driver of the sedan was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The passenger of the sedan, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The 68-year-old male driver of the truck was uninjured, and he was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
