WILKO DOWNS FEBRUARY TO MARCH ON

PHILIPPA ANDERSON INTO ROUND FIVE AT QS 6000 IN MEXICO

Merewether surfer Philippa Anderson has stormed into round five at the Los Cabos Open in Mexico. Seeded straight into round four, her first wave earned the highest score of the heat. “That was the best turn of the wave right at the end and that’s going to be a pretty decent score.” Anderson backed up the 7.8 with a 6.9 to easily claim the win. She’ll face Gold Coaster Ellie Brooks in the next round, who beat her in the Surfest final in 2015.

PHILIPPA ANDERSON INTO QUARTER FINALS IN JAPAN

Merewether’s Philippa Anderson has scraped into the quarter finals of the 3,000-point Qualifying Series event in Japan. Anderson survived a tense finish to grab second in round three, after winning round two with her last wave. “Yeah I didn’t actually know I’d won until I got in here so that’s good to know at the end if I need a score I can get it and move to the lead. If I got knocked out it would’ve been ok. I’m fortunate to come to a country like this. It’s beautiful.”
