LOCAL KNOWLEDGE TAKES OUT WOMEN’S LONGBOARD TITLE

Port Macquarie’s Jen Arnold made use of her local knowledge to take out the open women’s state longboard title at Bonny Hills over the weekend. While Sapphire Beach’s Jared Neal took out the men’s, ahead of Byron Bay’s Steve Mills and local surfer Darren O’Rafferty. BODYBOARD WORLD CHAMPS DROP INTO NEWCASTLE FOR BOOGIE FEST

A month after two current world champions were here for Surfest, today two of bodyboarding’s best were in Newcastle for Boogie Fest. Brazil’s Isabella Sousa did her best to put on a show in small conditions. The Pro Women were just one of the divisions, with junior events and Pro Drop-knee also in the water. South Africa’s Sacha Specker proved stand up riders don’t get all the perks.
