PARKES PROGRESSES, KING KNOCKED-OUT AT CENTRAL COAST PRO

Garrett Parkes has cruised into the sixth round of the Central Coast Pro at Avoca, following another impressive performance today. The Byron Bay local won his round 5 heat convincingly – an 8.5 ride setting him up with a total score of 14.9. Unfortunately fellow Byron surfer (kye-ess) Kyuss King and Angourie’s Chris Zaffis weren’t so lucky. Both bowed out in their fourth round heats. (NO AUDIO)

AVOCA LOCALS SHINE AT CENTRAL COAST PRO

Day two of the Central Coast Pro and the competition has ramped up at Avoca. This morning the Round Two heats in the women’s saw locals Kirra-Belle Ollsen and Macy Callaghan advance into the third round. Over in the men’s, another surfer at his home break, Sandon Whittaker, booked a place in the fourth round, scoring 12.35 in his heat. Round Four gets underway tomorrow. BAKER AND ADAM KNOCKED OUT OF TWEED COAST PRO

A tough day for Merewether boardriders at the QS 1000 Tweed Coast Pro at Cabarita. Jesse Adam finished last in heat 10 of round three. While a host of his rivals scored sevens and eights, Jesse only managed a two-wave score of 7.25, which saw him bow out of the contest. It was a similar story for fellow Hunter rider Jackson Baker. The 19-year-old’s heat score of 9.3 was only enough to get him into third spot, as he also made an early exit from the event.
