PORT MACQUARIE TEEN ATTACKED AND HAS BACKPACK STOLEN

A 13-year-old boy has been attacked, and had property stolen on the Mid North Coast. Around 2pm yesterday, the boy was riding his bike on Major Innes Road in Port Macquarie. He stopped to give way to a car, when he was struck on the back of his neck, causing him to fall to the ground. The man has then fled the scene on foot with the boy’s backpack, and was last seen headed south on The Ruins Way. The boy was not injured in the incident. Police now wish to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries. He is described as being 20 to 30 years old, about 180cm tall with a thin build. TWO IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING GOLD COAST VEHICLE SEARCH

Police have allegedly discovered stolen property, drugs, and firearms during a vehicle search on the Gold Coast. In the early hours of this morning, police saw a vehicle parked near the intersection of Zane Street and Ashmore Road in Molendinar. Police say when they approached, three men jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. After a short foot chase, two of the men were taken into custody. Police will allege they found stolen property, drugs, two firearms and ammunition during a search of the vehicle. A 31-year-old man from Worongary and a 28-year-old Nerang man have been charged a number of weapon and drug related offences. Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

CACHE OF STOLEN GOODS RECOVERED FOLLOWING KOTARA SOUTH ARREST

A motorcycle, electric tools, bicycles, surf boards, a lawn mower, and large amounts of portable electronic equipment are among items police allegedly recovered following an arrest in a Newcastle suburb yesterday. As a result of investigations into a number of thefts across Newcastle and the Central Coast, police arrested a 30-year-old man outside a home on Blackbutt Parade in Kotara South, shortly after 10am yesterday. Police seized a stolen motor cycle, and other stolen property that was allegedly in his possession. A search warrant was then executed at a home on Havelock Street in Mayfield, where police allegedly located more stolen property, including electric tools, seven bicycles, five surf boards, large amounts of portable electronic equipment, a generator, a tent, a lawn mower, and a whipper snipper. OWNERS OF STOLEN PROPERTY SOUGHT

Police are looking for the owners of stolen property recovered in south east Queensland last week. Power tools, tool boxes, spanner sets, water-blasters, and other trade equipment are among the items recovered during the search warrant that was executed on April 7. AIR-RIFLE STOLEN IN WEST TAMORTH BREAK-IN

Thieves have stolen a firearm during a break-in in the North West earlier this week. Police say that a shed at a property on Tingira Street in West Tamworth was broken into between 9pm on Monday, and 7.30am on Tuesday this week. A B.S.A Meteor .177 calibre air-rifle was taken. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

STOLEN CREDIT CARDS AND DRUGS SEIZED IN CHARLESTOWN

Three people have been arrested and drugs and stolen property have allegedly been seized during a raid on a Charlestown property. Police executed a search warrant at an Ida Street home, just before midday yesterday. They allegedly located stolen credit cards and identification documents, methamphetamine, and other drugs during the search. A 25-year-old man has been charged with larceny and four counts of goods in custody. A 23-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for breach of bail. A 16-year-old boy will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act in relation to receiving and fraud offences. It’s part of an ongoing investigation into thefts from cars and the fraudulent use of stolen credits cards in the Lake Macquarie area.

DRUGS, GUNS & JEWELS SEIZED IN NIMBIN RAID

Drugs, guns, gold bullion and jewels were among the huge haul of valuables paraded by police in Lismore this afternoon. The items were allegedly discovered when officers searched a home at Nimbin earlier in the day. A 45-year-old man was arrested following the raid. He’s now assisting police with their inquiries.
