CHILD DIES IN UPPER HUNTER 4WD ROLLOVER

A child has died in a car rollover in the upper Hunter this afternoon. Police say a 4WD ran out of control and rolled on The Golden Highway near the intersection of Ulan Road in Cassilis, around 2:30pm this afternoon. One of the five occupants of the car, a young child, died at the scene. The four remaining occupants were treated at the scene by paramedics for before being taken to Dubbo Hospital.

DRIVER KILLED AT KYOGLE

A single-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a man in the Northern Rivers. Around 3 this morning, a Hyundai Getz left the road and crashed into a signpost on Summerland Way at Kyogle. The 36-year-old male driver died at the scene.

WOMAN DIES IN UPPER HUNTER CRASH

A head-on crash in the upper Hunter has claimed the life of a woman in her 60s. Around 7:30am, a northbound Hyundai collided with a southbound Mercedes on the New England Highway, approximately 10 kilometres north of Scone. A 62-year-old Queensland woman, who was driving the Hyundai was critically injured. She died a short time later. A young girl, aged 2, who was a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries. It is understood the pair are members of the same family. A 51-year-old woman from Wingen, who was the driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes, was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by emergency services. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

ONE DEAD, ANOTHER INJURED IN FATAL CENTRAL COAST CRASH

One man is dead, while another is in a critical condition after a fatal crash on the Central Coast this morning. Just after 10 o’clock, emergency services were called to the M1 in Somersby, west of Gosford. Initial reports suggest a van and a truck collided. Authorities have confirmed the driver of the van died at the scene, while the passenger was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to hospital in a critical condition. Emergency services say the driver of the truck was not injured. It’s caused northbound lanes to close and diversions are in place on M1 Pacific Motorway through Somersby. Investigations are continuing.

THREE MOTORCYCLE DEATHS IN 24 HOURS ON NSW ROADS

Three motorcyclists have been killed on NSW roads in separate accidents over the last 24 hours. In the first incident, a motorcycle left the road and went down an embankment on the Bruxner Highway at Tenterfield in the far north of the state, around 11am yesterday. The male rider died at the scene. Then around 2pm yesterday, emergency services responded to reports that a motorcycle had left the road on Mount Lindesay Road in Lindesay, in the north-west of the state. The 25-year-old male rider died at the scene. Finally, around 4pm yesterday, two men were riding motorcycles in bushland near Kanangra Drive in Gwandalan, at Lake Macquarie, when they collided. A 49-year-old man died at the scene, while the rider of the other motorbike, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. So far this year, 24 …

SECOND MOTORCYCLE FATALITY ON HUNTER ROADS THIS WEEKEND

In less than 24 hours, a second motorcyclist has died on a Hunter Valley road this weekend. Around 3:40pm on Saturday, emergency services responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on Rosemount Road in Denman, about 28km south west of Muswellbrook. A 26-year-old man died at the scene. The fatality comes after a man in his 40’s was killed on Putty Road in Howes Valley, about 45 kms south of Singleton.

ANOTHER LIFE LOST ON PUTTY ROAD

A motorcyclist has died, following a crash on a notorious stretch of road in the Upper Hunter. Emergency services were called to a section of Putty Road, about 45-kilometres south of Singleton, at around 9:30 this morning. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man – believed to be aged in his 40s – died at the scene. Any witnesses are urged to come forward.

30-YEAR-OLD DIES IN OXLEY HIGHWAY COLLISION

A man has died following a head on collision in the north west of New South Wales. Shortly after 3pm yesterday, a Ford Falcon and a Toyota Kluger collided on the Oxley Highway near Tamworth. The 30-year-old male driver of the Ford died at the scene. His passenger, a 19-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries. The two people in the Toyota, a 44-year-old woman and a 54-year-old male passenger were also treated at the scene by paramedics, before all three were taken to hospital for further treatment.

DRIVER OF A CAR KILLED AFTER COLLIDING WITH BUS

A collision between a car and a bus has killed a man on the Gold Coast. The car and bus were travelling in opposite directions on Golden Four Drive at Bilinga about 11:20am on Sunday, when they collided. The 35-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old female passenger of the bus received minor head injuries and was taken to Robina Hospital for treatment.
