MUM AND SON SURVIVE 10 DAYS LOST IN BUSHLAND

A mother and son,have survived 10 days missing in isolated bushland north of Singleton. A search was mobilsed just four days ago when their parked car was located. The 40-year-old woman and nine-year-old boy used leaves to collect water, shared a pair of shoes and removed ticks and leeches from one another during their ordeal… in the rugged terrain of the Mount Royal National Park. They were found by searchers around 1pm today, and are reportedly in remarkably good physical condition.

POLICE APPEAL FOR HELP TO FIND CESSNOCK TEENAGER

Police are appealing for information to find a missing teenager from Cessnock. 19-year-old Dylan Dickie was last seen on June 23, when he left his family home on Guest Street on a trail bike. Dylan’s family raised the alarm with police when he failed to return, and despite ongoing searches, he has not been seen or heard from since. He’s described as being 175-centimetres tall, with a slim build, fair complexion, blonde hair and blue eyes. The motorbike is a blue 2014 Yamaha XT with registration MNG39. It was last seen near Trig Road at Corrabare.

MAN MISSING FROM NSW FAR NORTH COAST

Police are appealing for information to find a man missing on the Far North Coast. 42-year-old Patrick Foresi was last seen on Monday morning, leaving his home on Jumbuck Crescent at Terranora, south of Tweed Heads. He left in his maroon Nissan Patrol with registration plates CE42BZ. Concerned family members called police when he failed to return home. They are worried for Mr Foresi’s welfare, as his disappearance is out of character. It’s believed he hasn’t got a mobile phone or money. Mr Foresi is about 175-centimetres tall, with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes. He has distinctive scars on both arms and tattoo sleeves, with script writing and blue birds surrounding it on his right forearm. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

UPDATE: SEARCH UNDERWAY TO FIND MISSING HELICOPTER

The Australian Maritime and Safety Authority is co-ordinating an operation to find a helicopter that went missing between Tamworth and Sydney. The EC135 took off from Breeza on Saturday evening and was headed for Mona Vale in Sydney’s north. The helicopter, with three people on board, hasn’t been heard from since. No mayday call or emergency beacon signal has been detected. AMSA officers were notified this morning. Rescuers, which includes the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, have picked up a ping from a telephone and are searching between the Hunter Valley and Sydney. Seven helicopters are expected to join the search effort this afternoon. More to come.

SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR MISSING LAKE MACQUARIE MAN

A full scale police search is underway near West Wallsend, as part of the investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Lake Macquarie man Christopher Daunt. Police began a search at Killingworth at around 10 o’clock this morning, with all-terrain vehicles, dirt bikes and PolAir involved. The 27-year-old was last seen on March 29 in North Lambton, where he was visiting a friend. His family raised the alarm when they didn’t hear from him and he failed to return to his Gateshead home. On Monday Lake Macquarie police established a strike force to investigate his disappearance. Police have begun search for Chris Daunt in bushland off Killingworth road. SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR MISSING WOMAN

Police are searching bushland in the Gold Coast hinterland for the body of a woman who’s been missing for six years. Queensland Police believe 46-year-old Linda Francis Sidon was murdered. The New Zealand-born woman was last seen in June 2009. A search began in the suburb of Numinbah yesterday and Detective Superintendent, Dave Hutchinson, says Ms Sidon’s son Daniel is a person of interest.
