WILKINSON IN FANTASTIC FORM AT BELLS BEACH

Matt Wilkinson has impressed on the first day of action of the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach. It was an action-packed finish for the Copacabana ace. He produced an impressive 6.5 within the last minute to advance. Meanwhile, Macy Callaghan will take on fellow Australian Nikki Van Djik in Round 2. The Avoca surfer finished third in her heat today, with a two-wave total of 9.73.

COAST PAIR SENT PACKING IN PORTUGAL

Both Central Coast surfers were knocked out in Round Three in Portugal. World number five Matt Wilkinson fell to Italian Leo Fioravanti. WILKO AND BUCHAN BOTH OUT IN FRANCE

Matt Wilkinson’s poor tour performance continued overnight, bowing out of the Quicksilver Pro in Round Three. His top score a 7 point 7, but a broken board at the end of the heat lost him critical time. This is the third finish at 25th place for Wilkinson…his world title contention slipping further out of reach. Meanwhile, Avoca’s Adrian Buchan was also knocked out in Round Three, losing his lead in the final minute. (NO AUDIO)
