MOGUL MATT WINS BRONZE

Narara’s Matt Graham has finished on the podium in the Dual Moguls event in Tazawako Japan. The 22-year old was superior in speed, aerials and turns, against Kazakhstan’s Dmitry Reiherd in the bronze medal run. In the Final, Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury claimed his 40th World Cup gold, with a narrow win over Frenchman Benjamin Cavet. China is the next stop on tour, followed by the World Championships in Spain next month.

HISTORIC VICTORY FOR MOGUL MATT

To Moguls skiing now, and Narara’s Matt Graham made it a historic Aussie double in Calgary…joining Britt Cox on top of the podium. The 22-year-old watched two-time World Champion Mikael Kingsbury post an 83 point-nine, and then set off on one of the most important runs of his World Cup career. He nailed his second aerial manoeuvre…then, it was in the hands of the judges. “Matt Graham then waits is it going to be the win is he going to deny Kingsbury he does 85.34 it’s a cracking score.” Graham climbed to second in the rankings, and goes into the Thursday’s event at Deer Valley in the United States as defending champion.

A MISHAP FOR MOGUL MATT

It was a tough weekend for Central Coast Moguls skier Matt Graham; failing to complete the first final and finishing 15th at Lake Placid. Despite the result in the US, he remains fourth on the World Cup table; The 22 year-old wasn’t the only big name to struggle, with two-time World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Mikael Kingsbury in sixth place. Scoring an upset win was Kazakhstan’s Dmitry Reiherd. The 28 year-old bagging his first win since 2008 with a score of 82 point two. The next event will be held in Canada this weekend.
