LANGFORD AND TEAM USA NOTCH FIRST AMERICA’S CUP WIN

Team USA has its first win against the Kiwis in the America’s Cup final. Featuring Lake Macquarie sailor Kyle Langford, the defending champions started the day three-nil down, but found some much-needed boat speed. While race five went to the Kiwis, Team USA turned the tables to win race six, and spark hopes of a fightback. The teams need seven wins to claim the coveted trophy.

LANGFORD AND TEAM USA HAVE PLENTY OF WORK TO DO

Lake Macquarie sailor Kyle Langford says he and his crewmates onboard Team USA now have five important days to make changes to their boat, to find more speed. The 27-year-old was part of the America’s Cup winning outfit back in 2013, that trailed Team New Zealand 8-1, before mounting an incredible comeback. “I think everybody on this team is here to win and working desperately to make sure we can win it again, that’s what we’ve been working for for the last four years and we’ll be digging in hard to try and do it again.” Racing resumes on June 24.

LANGFORD INTO AMERICA’S CUP FINAL

Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen may be out of the running in the America’s Cup, but Lake Macquarie is still well represented, thanks to Kyle Langford onboard Team USA. The 27-year-old and fellow Aussie Tom Slingsby have their work cut out for them as the defenders battle with Team New Zealand. Despite some anxious moments, the Kiwis grabbed two victories on day one of the finals, to establish an early lead in the first to nine series.
