Another solid knock from Newcastle cricketer Jason Sangha representing Australia’s Under 19s against Sri Lanka today, posting 27 batting at four. SANGHA PREPARES TO CAPTAIN AUSSIE UNDER 19’S

Newcastle’s Jason Sangha and the Australian under-19 cricket side will switch focus to the one-day format tomorrow, following the drawn three-day game against Sri Lanka in Hobart. Sangha will get the chance to captain the side during the five-match ODI series, sharing the role with Will Sutherland and Param Uppal. “Two guys that have a lot of experience in captaincy so us three work really closely in terms of planning strategy with the bat and the ball so I’m lucky that I’ve got those two guys by my side.”

SANGHA GETS CALL UP TO CA XI

Newcastle cricket prodigy Jason Sangha has been given a berth in the Cricket Australia Eleven squad ahead of the final two Matador Cup matches. The 17-year-old has been rushed into the side as an injury replacement for Victorian Bushrangers rookie, Sam Grimwade. Sangha’s selection comes on the back of a successful year captaining the under-17 New South Wales Country side, and impressive performances in the 2015 under-17 and 19 national championships.

SANGHA SIGNS FOR SYDNEY FOR THE BIG BASH

Newcastle teenager Jason Sangha has been signed by Big Bash League Champions, the Sydney Thunder, as their Community Rookie for the upcoming season. The 16 year old has been a fan of the club since its inception. Sangha was scouted by Thunder Director, Mike Hussey, and will get the chance to learn from test batsmen, Usman Khawaja.

TEENAGE NEWCASTLE CRICKETER OFFICIALLY EARNS NSW CONTRACT

Newcastle cricketer Jason Sangha has officially become the youngest player in history to receive a New South Wales rookie contract. The 16-year-old Hunter Sports High student has plenty of high profile supporters, including former Australian captain, Greg Chappell. Last year he became the youngest player in 90 years to feature for New South Wales in a Second XI match. Sangha plans to stay in the Hunter to focus on his year 11 commitments, and travel to Sydney to train with the Blues.

WALLSEND’S SANGHA SIGNS TWO YEAR DEAL WITH CRICKET NSW

Wallsend cricketer Jason Sangha, today began his journey as a professional, signing a two year contract with Cricket NSW. The 16-year-old spent much of this year playing with Randwick-Petersham in the Sydney competition. He hopes to make his Sheffield Shield debut next season. The Hunter Sports High student spent the majority of the current season preparing for the under 19 World Cup before it’s cancellation.
