CENTRAL COAST UNITED SEAL LATE FFA CUP WIN

There were mixed results for Central Coast teams last night in round 5 of the FFA Cup. Terrigal was left goalless by Sydney Olympic 2-0, Killarney District lost 6-5 in a penalty shootout against Bomaderry, and Berkeley Vale was eliminated by Hawkesbury City 2-1. Meanwhile, Central Coast United has advanced to the next round, with a late 2-1 victory over Hurstville City. Captain Daniel McFarlane finding the net in the dying seconds to seal the win. CENTRAL COAST UNITED TO FACE HURSTVILLE TONIGHT

Round 5 of the FFA Cup gets underway tonight, with plenty of Central Coast teams still in contention. Terrigal take on Sydney Olympic at Pluim Park at 7pm, while Killarney District and Berkeley Vale are both away. Central Coast United will be hoping to extend its golden run of form against Hurstville City at Peakhurst Park. The team in red and black sealed a 4-0 win over Sydney University in the previous round of the national knockout competition.

PORT UNITED DEFEAT WALLAMBA FC IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE FFA CUP

Port United are into the third round of the FFA Cup after defeating Southern League champions Wallamba FC 6-nil yesterday afternoon in Port Macquarie. Last year’s runners-up, United, started slow, heading into the break with a one-nil advantage. But the outfit outclassed their southern opponents in the second half. Elliot Break, Jake Pugh, Matt Bale and Matt Moore all scored goals, with recruit Harry Gordon grabbing two on his debut for the club. (VISION ONLY)

JAFFAS HAND WESTON 5-0 FOOTBALL LESSON

Former Newcastle Jet and Perth Glory player Mitch Oxborrow made his debut for Broadmeadow Magic this afternoon, in their 3-1 win over Valentine. While the Jaffas bounced back from last week’s FFA Cup thrashing to demolish Weston 5-0. New signing Kristian Bymora started on the bench but managed a second half goal on debut. A solid Ben Hay strike opening the scoring for the home side midway through the first half. Minutes later, the Jaffas were up 2-0 thanks to an own goal. Skipper, Michael Sessions slotted one in off a corner to make it 3-0 at the break.
