2 NRL GAMES BOUND FOR CENTRAL COAST

A record number of NRL games will be held at Central Coast Stadium next year. In round seven, the Rabbitohs will face the Canberra Raiders for a Saturday afternoon clash. While the Roosters will host the Titans on Saturday May 26 in a mid-season battle. Eight games will be played in regional New South Wales and Queensland, with the Central Coast holding a quarter of the games. (NO AUDIO)

MCKINNA CALLS FOR GOSFORD WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

Gosford Mayor Lawrie McKinna says Central Coast stadium should be the next venue to host a World Cup qualifier. The Former Mariners coach slammed the playing surface of last night’s match down in Canberra and says a fixture on the coast is a no-brainer. COUNCIL CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO PLAY FAIR WITH STADIUM

Gosford Council is calling on the state government to play fair and allocate money for the¬†upgrade of Central Coast Stadium. It follows funding announcements for stadium upgrades in Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle. Council says the coast missed out on hosting the Asian Cup due to the stadium’s capacity and wants to increase its size by 12,000 seats. At least $30-million would be needed for an upgrade of the 15-year-old venue, which is council owned.
