MARINERS RE-SIGN PAIN AND ROWLES FOR 2018/19

The Mariners have today re-signed two players for next season, with defender Kye Rowles and attacker Connor Pain both penning a one-year extension. 19-year-old Rowles made 11 appearances in his first season with the yellow and navy. Pain has spent the past two seasons on the Coast, and adds much-needed firepower to Mike Mulvey’s front third. Today’s announcement follows the signing of Jack Clisby and Corey Gameiro earlier this week.

COREY GAMEIRO JOINS THE YELLOW AND NAVY

Mike Mulvey has added another signing to next season’s squad, with attacker Corey Gameiro joining the club on a one-year deal. The 25-year-old has plenty of A-League experience, having featured for Brisbane, Sydney, Wellington and Melbourne City. He also has some international credentials, having previously captained the Australian Under 23s side. His past few seasons have been plagued with injury… This will be his first pre-season start in four years, after working his way back from three knee reconstructions. He will join the Mariners camp in June.

JACOB MELLING EXTENDS TIME WITH MARINERS

The Mariners are continuing their forward planning for next season, announcing that Jacob Melling has extended his contract. The 23-year-old will remain in the yellow and navy until at least the end of the 2019/20 season. The defensive midfielder has made 59 A-League appearances, 11 coming at the Mariners, after joining in January. Today’s news follows the re-signing of Antony Golec yesterday.

ANTONY GOLEC PENS CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH MARINERS

The Mariners have announced defender Antony Golec has signed a contract extension with the yellow and navy. The new deal will see him remain on the Central Coast, until at least the end of the 2018/19 season. The 27-year-old is currently on the road to recovery after fracturing his shinbone in March. Golec quickly became a fan favourite in his first season at the club, forming a formidable partnership with captain Alan Baro in the heart of defence.

The Mariners will look to snap a five game losing streak in tomorrow night’s Derby against The Jets. Caretaker Coach Wayne O’Sullivan says there’s plenty of motivation, with the arrival of new manager Mike Mulvey, avoiding a wooden spoon and the final game for a club legend.
