NINE COUNTS OF BURGLARY LAID OVER ALLEGED BREAK-INS

A man has been charged over a string of break-and-enters on the Gold Coast. Police allege between September 4 and 7, a cafe, hardware store, takeaway store, carwash, tile business, and several restaurants were broken into. In each case, property was stolen. A 33-year-old Marsden man has since been charged with nine counts of burglary, and is scheduled to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on September 21.

TWO ASSAULTED DURING ARMIDALE BREAK-IN

Information is being sought from the public after a home was broken into and two men assaulted in the north west of New South Wales. At around 7:30pm last night, police say a man forced open a side window of a property in Brown Street in Armidale, and assaulted two male occupants, aged 28 and 21. During the altercation, the two residents forced the intruder from the property. The 28-year-old suffered facial and dental injuries, while the 21-year-old suffered a laceration to his head. Three children inside the home at the time were not injured.

TWO TO FACE COURT AFTER PHARMACIES ALLEGEDLY BROKEN INTO

A man and a woman will face Coffs Harbour Local Court after two pharmacies were allegedly broken into earlier this week. On Thursday night, thieves allegedly attempted to steal a large amount of drugs from a pharmacy on Park Beach Road in Coffs Harbour, but the offenders fled the scene empty handed. Then, early Friday morning a pharmacy on Bowra Street in Urunga was broken into and a large amount of pharmaceutical drugs were allegedly stolen. Police investigations led to the execution of a search warrant at a home on South Street in Urunga, where they allegedly recovered a large quantity of pharmaceutical medicines. A 24-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter.

FIVE TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED MOREE BREAK-IN’S

A group of five men will face court in relation to a string of alleged break and enter offences in the north of New South Wales. Over Friday night and Saturday morning, a number commercial businesses in Moree were broken into. Police were alerted to the break-ins around 5am on Saturrday, and they subsequently located five men in Balo Street in Moree. Police allege the group were in possession tools and property from the break-ins. All five, aged between 20 and 60, have been charged with a range of aggravated break and enter offences.

CCTV FOOTAGE RELEASED AFTER MORPETH BREAK AND ENTER

CCTV images have been released following a break and enter at a home in the Hunter Valley today. A 74-year-old woman has told police that she was in the kitchen of her Morpeth Road, Morpeth, around 7am today when she saw a man in her backyard. The man entered her home through the back door and stole two mobile phones. The man was then chased from the home by witnesses. He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander or Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, medium build with black hair. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, long dark pants and gloves.

MAN TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED ASSAULT OF 77-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

A man has been charged following the assault of an elderly woman on the Mid North Coast last weekend. Police allege the man broke into a home on Panorama Drive in Diamond Beach at around 1.30am on Saturday, before confronting and assaulting a 77-year-old woman on the property. The man then fled the scene. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Police investigations led them to stop a 25-year-old man on the Pacific Highway in Nabiac, at around 2:30 yesterday afternoon. He was subsequently charged with a range of offences including aggravated break and enter, commit serious indictable offence, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.

77-YEAR-OLD WOMAN CONFRONTED BY HOME INVADER

An elderly woman has been confronted by a home invader during a break and enter on the mid north coast. Police say that a man forced entry into a home on Panorama Drive at Diamond Beach around 1.30am on last Saturday. The intruder confronted a 77-year-old woman before fleeing the scene. It’s unknown if any items were stolen, and the woman was taken to Manning Base hospital to be checked.

INTRUDERS ON THE RUN AFTER VIOLENT TWEED HEADS HOME INVASION

Two men in their 50’s have been violently assaulted during a home invasion on the far north coast. Around 9:30pm yesterday, three men forced entry into a home on Russell Way in Tweed Heads South, armed with bats and cutting implements. Two men, aged 52 and a 51, were at the property at the time – both were beaten with the bats The 51-year-old was stabbed multiple times. The intruders then fled the scene. Both injured men were taken to hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

POLICE SEIZE ITEMS RELATED TO WARNERS BAY BREAK AND ENTER

A man has appeared in court, accused of breaking into a commercial property at Lake Macquarie over the Easter long weekend. Police say that early on Sunday, the property on The Esplanade at Warners Bay was broken into, with cash and watches stolen. Officers then executed a search warrant at a house on Sixth Street at Boolaroo yesterday morning. A number of items were taken by police, and a 47-year-old man was charged with break, enter and steal, goods in custody and custody of a knife in a public place.
