TWO ASSAULTED DURING ARMIDALE BREAK-IN

Information is being sought from the public after a home was broken into and two men assaulted in the north west of New South Wales. At around 7:30pm last night, police say a man forced open a side window of a property in Brown Street in Armidale, and assaulted two male occupants, aged 28 and 21. During the altercation, the two residents forced the intruder from the property. The 28-year-old suffered facial and dental injuries, while the 21-year-old suffered a laceration to his head. Three children inside the home at the time were not injured.

CHARGES LAID OVER ALLEGED ASSAULT OF POLICE AND PARAMEDICS

A man will face a Newcastle court, charged over the alleged assault of police and paramedics a week ago. Emergency services responded to reports of a man with a cut to his head at a Merewether hotel, shortly before 1am on August 11. The 26-year-old allegedly assaulted paramedics when they attempted to treat him. He’s also accused of assaulting the attending police officers, before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. The man was arrested when he attended Newcastle Police Station yesterday.

AXE-HANDLE ALLEGEDLY USED IN ISLINGTON ASSAULT

A man has allegedly used an axe to damage a car and assault another man in a Newcastle suburb yesterday. A 44-year-old man was sitting in his utility, parked outside a hotel on George Street in Islington just before 5pm when a second man, aged 30, left the hotel and got into his green Toyota Camry that was parked in front of the ute. Police say the driver of the ute became annoyed when a car in front didn’t leave immediately so he allegedly threw a sandwich at the vehicle and got out to abuse the driver. An argument has taken place, and the 44-year-old has allegedly grabbed an axe from the rear tray of his ute and used it to smash the driver’s-side window, windscreen and roof of the Camry. POLICE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR TWO MEN AFTER BERESFIELD ASSAULT

CCTV images have been released as police investigations continue into an assault in the Hunter Valley last week. Just before midnight last Friday, police say a 43-year-old man was assaulted by two men on Lawson Avenue in Beresfield. The victim was taken to hospital and required surgery for fractures to his jaw. The men in the CCTV images are described as being aged in their late teens to early 20s with a medium build. They were wearing dark hooded jumpers and shorts, and are shown riding skateboards.

MAN ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTS THREE WOMEN IN ONE MORNING

A man will face a north coast court today after he allegedly assaulted three women yesterday morning. Police say a 70-year-old woman was walking her dog along Powell Street in Grafton around 8am, when she was approached by a man. It’s alleged the man, aged 40, indecently assaulted the woman. Shortly after, a 40-year-old woman was seated in her Toyota Hiace van on Hoof Street, when the man entered the vehicle and allegedly assaulted her. He then ran towards a 55-year-old woman on the other side of the road, and allegedly committed a third assault. Police arrested the man at the scene shortly after. He was charged with assault with act of indecency, two counts of common assault, and attempting to escape custody.

WITNESSES SOUGHT AFTER HAMILTON ASSAULT

A man is in hospital after being assaulted in the early hours of Friday morning in a Newcastle suburb. Police say a 35-year-old man left a hotel on Beaumont Street in Hamilton with a group of friends at around 2:30am on Friday, when an argument broke out with another man on Cleary Street, and the 35-year-old man was assaulted. He suffered head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition. Police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 20s and was wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and black jacket at the time. Any witnesses to the assault are also being asked to come forward.

INFORMATION SOUGHT INTO CENTRAL COAST ASSAULT

Police are appealing for witnesses, or those with any information regarding the assault of a man at Gorokan on the Central Coast. The 23-year-old was assaulted around 12.20am on Sunday 28 May and was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital. The man sustained head injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

69-YEAR-OLD ASSAULTED IN ATTEMPTED CARJACKING

A man in his 60’s has been assaulted during an attempted carjacking on the far north coast. Shortly after 9pm last night, a 69-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle parked on Minjungbal Drive in Tweed Heads, when he was approached by a man. When the occupant wound his window down, the man reached in and started punching the 69-year-year-old in the head. The assailant then opened the driver’s side door and attempted to get in. The 69-year-old fought off the attacker and closed the door, but the man continued the assault through the open window. A bystander came to the aid of the older man and the attacker fled from the scene. The occupant of the car suffered significant facial injuries including a broken nose. PUBLIC ASSISTANCE SOUGHT AFTER 60-YEAR-OLD ASSAULTED

A man in his 60’s has suffered head injuries in a suspected assault on the Central Coast this morning. Just before 7:30am, emergency services responded to reports of an injured man in the car park of a club on Lake Haven Drive, in Wyong. The 60-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to Wyong Hospital in a stable condition. Police believe the man, who was asleep in his car, was approached and assaulted. Anyone with information into the incident is urged to contact police.

CCTV IMAGES RELEASED OVER PEATS RIDGE ASSAULT

Information is being sought from the public over an assault last month that left a man in hospital with serious head injuries. Police say a 42-year-old man presented at the emergency department of Gosford Hospital at around midnight on the 6th of April. The man remains in a critical condition in hospital. Subsequent investigations have revealed the man was assaulted at a service station in Peats Ridge. Police have released a number of CCTV images as investigations into the assault continue. The first, a brown early 2000’s model Holden Commodore. The rear passenger tyre may be a spare tyre or have no alloy rim. The other image is a mid 2000’s Red Holden Commodore sedan.
