I think the cut off age is 40 unless that’s changed recently. If you are a match to anyone your details are registered already and you’ll be contacted. I am thinking that maybe they need more donors as a suitable match might not be available on the current register. It’s wonderful to see so many people wanting to help this little girl and others.

Any time you donate blood you can enrol to be on the bone marrow register. The registry will call you to tell you if you are a match.
There is a blood donor centre in Maitland. You can enrol for the Bone Marrow Register there.
