POLICE CATCH GROPER AFTER WILD SWAMP-LAND CHACE

A 36 year-old man has been charged, after allegedly leading police on a wild chase through swamp-land for almost an hour last night.

Officers were called to Varsity Lakes just before 6 o’clock, after a woman claimed she’d been groped by the man while giving him a lift.

“Male has jumped into the water…swimming over towards Varsity Central where The Lake Cafe is. He’s in the middle of the, middle of the water right now…and we had a taser presentation. DO YOU HAVE HIM IN CUSTODY? Male in custody!”

The man was charged with assault, trespass and SEVEN counts of obstructing police.

He’ll remain in hospital tonight before fronting court tomorrow.
