A former Newcastle man who married a 12-year-old girl in an Islamic ceremony in the Hunter Valley has been jailed for more than seven years.
The 27-year-old university student, originally from Lebanon, moved to Sydney’s west early last year where he lived with the girl, who fell pregnant.
He was today found guilty of sexually abusing the minor, who suffered a miscarriage.
