He was a police officer who made the ultimate sacrifice and today local police and the community took time to remember Senior Constable David Rixon.
Three years after he was killed in the line of duty, flowers were laid at a memorial outside Tamworth’s police station.
Senior Constable Rixon died after he was shot during a routine vehicle stop in 2012.
Fellow officers say he will always be remembered for his integrity, dedication and extreme courage.
