HUGHES RESIGNS AS AIRPORT BOSS

Newcastle Airport is on the lookout for a new boss after the resignation of CEO Paul Hughes.

Mr Hughes who has been at the helm of the airport since 2006, will finish his tenure in March.

“In the next 12 months, the full terminal redevelopment will be complete and Newcastle
Airport will be firmly positioned for future domestic growth and the commencement of
international services.

“The future is bright for Newcastle Airport. The Airport’s Master Plan clearly outlines the next
steps in the precinct’s development. This is an exciting time to hand over the reins and I am
confident that the next CEO will continue to deliver exceptional results to our community.”

Newcastle Airport Chairman Peter Gesling has thanked Mr Hughes for his work over 10 years.

“As CEO, Paul has lead Newcastle Airport through one of its most rapid growth periods in its
65-year history, welcoming record months and years, as well as overseeing major projects
and developments,” Mr Gesling said.
