WHEELIES IN COFFS GIVEN TWO HANDCYCLES

Wheelchair athletes in Coffs Harbour now have two hand cycles
they’ll use to start a competition in the new year.

City Councillor Nan Cowling donated money from her allowance to make the bikes available to the Wheelchair Sports group.

“How much do you need ? I said $5,000, she said it’s there, yours, and it was in the bank account that afternoon. I went home and ordered two cycles, that’s how excited I was,” said Hank Dutcateau from Wheelchair Sports.

The group is now trying to raise money for a smaller hand cycle for disabled children and a tandem bike for couples.
